December Photo Challenge Recap

Image of several Polaroid style pictures with the text overlay "December Photo Challenge Recap" and "" Background slightly sparkly.

At the start of the month I started a photo challenge. 31 photos in 31 days, here is a recap on the challenge and what i posted.

It is the end of December and the start of a new year. This year seems to have flown by, and December has definitely gone in a flash. If you have been following this blog and my Instagram you may have seen that I set myself a photo challenge. # DecemberPhotoChallenge and #Aimsmas🎄 were the hashtags I used for each photo (alongside others).
I thought it would be nice to recap the photo challenge in this blog post, and pop all the photos in one place.

Week 1 Recap:

December 1st to December 7th. On one of the days, I posted twice, as I liked both photos of the Christmas tree that I took.

  • Day 1- Red
  • Day 2 – Candles
  • Day 3 – Shopping
  • Day 4 – Christmas Tree
  • Day 5 – City Lights
  • Day 6 – Star
  • Day 7 – Christmas Cards
Image of several images, labelled day 1 - day 7. Images include cranberries, a candle, shopping, two Christmas trees, Leeds city lights, a star and an assortment of Christmas cards.

Week 2 Recap:

December 8th until December 14th. This one I posted just one photo for each day. For the ‘Weather’ photo I was hoping we would have had some Christmas snow, but alas the weather did not play along.

  • Day 8 – Cosy & warm
  • Day 9 – Christmas flowers
  • Day 10 – Ribbons & Bows
  • Day 11 – Weather
  • Day 12 – Christmas Decorations
  • Day 13 – Baking
  • Day 14 – Christmas Lights
Image of several images included in the December photo challenge. These include, Christmas flowers, bows and ribbons, Christmas decorations in a shop, homemade mince pies and jam tars, merry Christmas lights, a view of The River Aire and a laptop playing 'Christmas Chronicles.

Week 3 Recap:

December 15th until December 21st. It was getting closer to Christmas in this week, which meant most of the photos had taken on more of a Christmas theme. I posted two photos of the ‘Christmas jumper’ theme.

  • Day 15 – Hot Chocolate
  • Day 16 – Pyjamas
  • Day 17 – Favourite Christmas Quote
  • Day 18 – Christmas Jumper
  • Day 19 – Christmas Book
  • Day 20 – Christmas Memories
  • Day 21 – Wrapping Paper
Image of several images included in the challenge. These images include, a hot chocolate at Leeds' German Market, a woman in pyjamas, two phtotos of a woman showing off various Christmas Jumpers, a selection of Christmas books, a Christmas Window scene, wrapping paper and a Christmas quote "Christmas isn't a season. It's a feeling".

Week 4 Recap:

December 22nd until December 28th. This week covered the lead up and over the Christmas period. Again, I posted two photos for the ‘Outfit’ shots, simply because I loved the skirts I wore over Christmas.

  • Day 22 – Countdown
  • Day 23 – Christmas Food
  • Day 24 – The Night Before Christmas
  • Day 25 – Christmas Morning
  • Day 26 – Gift Received
  • Day 27 – Outfit
  • Day 28 – White
Image of various images. These include a Christmas Countdown chalkboard with "ยฃ days 'till Christmas" written on, a Christmas dinner on a plate, a mince pie with a carrot on a plate and a shot of Whiskey, a cup of coffee with a gingerbread and Christmas card with gifts and tree in the background. An image of Dolce & Gabbana Italian Zest scent, white Christmas tree light branches and two photos of a woman in two types of tulle skirts, one wine colour and one grey colour, both with Christmas trees in background.

Week 5 Recap:

December 29th until December 23rd. Not really a full week, but the three remaining days of December. I couldn’t choose just one memory for the years, so ended up choosing six! These were from all the wonderful places I have been able to travel to over the past year.

  • Day 29 – Outside
  • Day 30 – Favourite Memory of the Year
  • Day 31 – Sparkle
Image of several images in a grid. One of a carousel, and black dress with various sequins in an art deco style. The remain photos include 3 girls at Retiro Park in Madrid, a view of Staithes through a window, cocktails on a ledge overlooking Parga, a woman on a beach (selfie) in sunglasses and a winter coat, and a view of Lake Windermere.

So there is the recap of my December Photo Challenge. I really enjoyed completing this, as it totally gave me focus on what to post on Instagram. Some of the photos I did have to plan and take in advance, but again I really enjoyed setting up various compositions for the photos.
Did you follow along with my photo challenge? Have you ever completed a photo challenge before?

    1. Aww, thank you! I really enjoyed taking them. It certainly makes posting on Instagram easier when it is all planned out / have a theme to follow, I don’t know what to post now

  1. I find photo challenges so fun but really hard!! I always look up to people who actually manage to complete it. One goal of mine is to being able to actually finish a whole photo challenge!

Great post and well done for posting every day during December!

    1. I don’t know how I managed to complete it! I think the hardest part was the days after Christmas, as the hype of Christmas sort of dies doesn’t it?! Now I have to have a good think about what to post next!

    1. I loved doing something different to celebrate Christmas rather than a Blogmas (there is no way I would keep up with that!)
