The Autumn Tag

Ever heard of the Autumn tag? I hadn’t until the lovely Lorna Cole tagged me in one last week.

Firstly I would just like to thank Lorna for tagging me in this. I loved her answers in her post and I can’t wait to answer the questions myself in this post. But, what is the autumn tag?

What is the Autumn Tag?

Well, from what I can gather it is answering autumn related questions and spreading a bit of autumn joy! You can tag other bloggers in your post to continue spreading autumn vibes, all they have to do is then answer the questions. I believe everyone more or less answers the same questions so here are my answers:

What signifies the start of Autumn for you?

I guess the start of Autumn for me comes in the form of watching the leaves change colour, darker nights rolling in, and lots of wonderfully scented candles.

What is your favourite Autumn scent?

I don’t know if this is more winter than autumn, but I love the smell of cinnamon, warm vanilla and general sweet smelling scents. At the moment I am loving the Charismatic Cat Candles marshmallow scented wax melt at the moment.

What is your favourite Autumn colour?

This time around I am loving the plum purple colour. I found a great pair of jeans from Matalan in this colour which I have loved wearing in the last few weeks.

Are you a fan of Pumpkin Spice Latte?

I have to admit something…I have never tried a pumpkin spice latte! I am not a massive fan of lattes as I find them a bit too milky, but I would always be willing to try a pumpkin spice version.

What is your favourite Autumn drink?

I guess this one is one to carry through from Autumn to Winter. I love a hot chocolate, especially flavoured ones. The Wispa Gold Hot Chocolate is amazing!

What is your favourite coffee shop and drink of choice?

I don’t really have a favourite coffee shop, I don’t go into many. If I am having coffee out though, I like a Cortado. I usually only drink tea at home as I like it quite strong and often leave the teabag in.

Apple Pie or Pumpkin Pie?

Definitely apple pie! We have a cooking apple tree in our garden so we always had at least one or two apple pies from these a year when I was young.

What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to in the next few months?

I am obsessed with Netflix at the moment! I can’t wait to see the new series of Riverdale and the new show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I’m also hoping that the new series of Peaky Blinders is coming to our screens too. At the moment I am re-watching all of Gossip Girl. I forgot how much I loved that show!

What is your favourite Autumn fashion trend?

I love a good ankle boot, both flat and with heels. I think they are a great shoe that will go with all if not most outfits. They are also perfect for keeping your feet warm and dry when the weather turns colder.

What is your favourite comfort food to enjoy in the colder months?

My go to comfort food is always bangers and mash (sausage and mash) with yummy gravy. It has been my favourite since I was young!

What is your favourite Autumn Activity?

I guess one of my favourite things to do in Autumn is making a start on my handmade Christmas gifts like chutneys and liqueurs. See my Mango Chutney Recipe and Homemade Limoncello recipe.

Are you a fan of horror movies?

I’m not a massive fan of horror movies, but I don’t mind a psychological thriller. I love trying to work out the plot twists before they happen.

Do you ever do anything fun for Halloween?

I guess Halloween is a bit different now I am older. I sometimes get dressed up and go out on the town with the girls. When we have gone out it has been the closest weekend to Halloween.

What was your favourite part of Halloween as a child?

I loved dressing up and going trick or treating with my cousins. A black bin bag witch costume was all the rage back then!

Are you a bigger fan of Bonfire Night or Halloween?

I think I am a bigger fan of Bonfire Night. I love watching the fireworks going to bonfires, pie and peas and not forgetting a bit of parkin or cinder toffee.

Where is your dream destination to visit in the Autumn?

Oh there are so many places I would love to visit. I would probably go for somewhere that is warm and has sun. (I might not be quite ready to fully give up summer!)

Do you always forget about the clocks going back?

I never really remember until maybe the day before. Its great that your phone automatically changes the time for you. I always worry that it hasn’t though and have to check then check again.

When do you usually start prepping for Christmas?

I try to start as early as I can. I hate the last minute rush the closer you get to Christmas. I wish I could leave it to later as the sales usually start the closer you get. I am starting to prep my homemade gifts as we speak though!

So there is my autumn tag! Hope you enjoyed my answers, I know I enjoyed answering them. Here are my tags for the autumn tag:
